Maximilian Wiedemann’s exhibition Vanity Unfair style curated by Natalie Kates was featured in the New York Times and attracted the attention of VH1 who at the time were looking for an artist who could translate their Diva's live campaign into modern iconography that would appeal to the savvy Social Media generation. When they came to Max’ ’s exhibition they knew they had found their man. VH1 commissioned Max to paint portraits of Adele, Leona Lewis, Miley Cyrus and other superstars which they presented in an advertising campaign that reached more than 100 million people; it included 60 foot billboards on Rodeo Drive and Sunset Blvd, 160 bus shelters across New York, wrap-around ads on the highest distribution newspapers in the city, full page ads in USA Today, Rolling Stone and non-stop TV ads with Max’ ’s paintings as the central focus, constantly flashing up on VH1. For one week Wiedemann’ ’s art imagery took over New York
